Butterhorn Rolls

Ingredients for preparing Butterhorn Rolls:

• One cup of shortening

• One cup of milk

• One and a half teaspoons of dry and active feast

• One teaspoon of white sugar

• Half cup of warm water in 110 degrees Fahrenheit

• Two eggs

• Two teaspoons of salt

• Four and a half cups of flour

• One teaspoon of baking powder

• Half cup of softened butter

Method of Preparation

First of all, combine the milk and shortening in a saucepan. This mixture should be heated until the shortening is fully melted. After that, keep it aside for cooling. Now in the warm water add one teaspoon of sugar and the yeast should be dissolved. Then the yeast mixture as well as the milk mixture should be added to the mixture of egg and then stirred.

Then sift in the baking powder and the flour and it should be mixed properly. Cover this mixture and refrigerate it overnight.

The dough should be divided and then rolled out into circles of half inch thickness. Roll it on a surface that is floured. Spread some soft butter on the surface. Then every circle should be cut into eight triangles in the form of a pie.

Then they should be rolled up from the larger end to the smaller one. Then the rolls should be placed on the baking sheet and allowed to rise for three to four hours. The oven should be preheated to 400 degree Fahrenheit.

The rolls should be then baked for eight to ten minutes inside the oven that is preheated. Then your butterhorn dinner rolls are ready.
